Our History
Founded in June of 2008 in San Angelo, TX. We began with an idea to help under privileged households with the monetary means to pay for martial arts lessons of a local martial arts school.
Several black belts put together the idea and a few agreed to help establish the non-profit we know today. In January 2011 we received our approval letter from the IRS stating that we are 501(c)3 status, which means that donations to our organizations are eligible for tax deduction. Through the collective efforts of the local community members and business leaders we have been able to establish a program of success. We have taken active roles in participating in local events such as: Picnic in the Park, Children's Fair, Christian's In Action Backpack Giveaway, and much more. In addition, we have put together an annual Self-Defense Awareness Seminar and Boot Campaign Fitness Program for the local community that is based strictly on donations. Currently, our non-profit has 3 programs in order to meet the goals and objectives of our mission. They include the following: Tuition program - pays for monthly dues on a sliding scale for qualified candidates to join the ranks of martial arts through a negotiated monthly rate with our sponsor schools. Equipment Program - pays for the initial expense of martial arts equipment so that they are able to participate in the ranks. (i.e. uniform, sparring gear, etc.) Competition Program - is a reimbursement program for our member students that would like to compete in martial arts tournaments. We are excited about the direction of our non-profit and look forward to servicing a community near you. |
